Things are looking brighter

Hey All! Just popping in to let everyone know that my Mom's breast cancer seems to have been kicked with her surgery last week. She had a more invasive surgery than we anticipated, but they got it all and she only has a 15% chance it will return...we like those odds! She will know what next steps are as far as radiation and chemo on Tuesday. We had a very special Mother's Day and are relishing how precious family is and to look at each day as a gift. I know that sounds very cheesy ! Apparently my Dad was so happy, he went out and bought a new Hummer for them to enjoy retirement more. Sorry but the thought of my Mother driving a Hummer just cracks me up ! I am working on dealing with some of my own insecurities; such as guilt, fear and co-dependency and focusing on living my life just one day at a time, not sweating the future. I am simplifying my life and having a huge garage sale soon to scale back on all my dust collectors. It's so funny how much I accumulated when I was MO and would drown my depression in shopping. When I got too big for clothes shopping at regular stores, I bought stuff for the house. Crazy, but I have found a multitude of things still in bags and with tags on them that I will never utilize. My friend laid wood floors in the guest room this week and will start on my bedroom in a few days. I still need to tile the rest of the house (I need a good tile guy in Central FL if anyone knows someone) and will redo the kitchen and bathrooms soon too. Well, I'm cleaning more closets today, so I better head out. Take care all and I'll check in soon... Amy

Amy, I'm glad to hear that things are looked brighter for you & your mom! I hope her future treatment is successful & complication free. When you get done simplifying & de-cluttering your house, would you come do mine??? I'm just a pack-rat and need to get rid of a ton of "stuff", too! Vickie J.

Oh Amy, that's such great news!!!!! Your Mom has been in my thoughts and prayers...I'm glad things are coming back together for you too. Well, me & the new boyfriend are getting pretty serious. We've decided that we are an "official couple" now. He's going up to West Virginia with me this weekend to meet some of my family. I met his brother & sister-in-law's children this past weekend. I'll try to keep you updated... Love, Erika
