Need a new PCP!!!!!!
Can anyone refer me to a good PCP that agrees with WLS. My current PCP is a joke. First she tells me to consider the surgery. Now i have researched it or 8 months now she is talking all this trash about the surgery and how i can die on the table. She is extremely rude and condecending. Help oh in the fort lauderdale area or broward would be nice thanks
I went thru this with my PCP. He's an a$$. But I thought that starting with someone new would look bad for ins. approval purposes. So I went in there to my PCP & was basically in the mood to be a real witch about it all...saying if he doesnt support me on this I would take myself & my 4 other family members who also see him & switch to another DR who supported what I want. WEll needless to say I didnt have to be as rude as I 1st thought, as he has changed his mind about it over the past 6 months. Although as soon as I get approved, I will most likly switch anyway just because he's not the greatest DR..IMO So sorry I cant help you with a name, but If you have been seeing your DR for awhile you might want to try this approach with them 1st. ~ Good Luck ~
If you are in an HMO and have to have a referral from a PCP it is really important that you find one that will be supportive and cooperative with the process. So if that is the case why not try backing into a PCP? Call your insurance company and find out which surgeons participate on your plan and then call the surgeons office and ask for a recommendation for a PCP. The surgeon's office would be in an excellent position to know which physicians in the area have referred patients in the past and which have been cooperative with their program. You might try going to the one of the surgeon's info sessions and then afterwards talk to the office staff or to the surgeon about this.
