PS said I will lose my bellybutton!
Saw the plastic surgeon at the University of Miami yesterday. That is where is my WLS is along with my other specialists, since I've had so many health issues in the past 18 months. I really need to decide if this is what I want to do. He said the P word...everyone else has been saying TT since it would be with a hernia repair, but he said all he could/would do is cut of the panni, possibly pull in the sides. Then I asked about the pubic area and he said yes, he could do something with it. Oh, yeah and by the way you won't have a bellybutton. Don't worry you only needed it once in your life. He could see I was shocked by this...I mean I know the important this is to get this huge flap of skin off of me, but can't I ever be somewhat normal???? He said, look it's going to put you at too much risk to try and deal with it, we need to get it and out especially if you have other surgeries going on. I know, I know... I'm not even doing this for final results, hell I'm doing it with a revision...of course it's not final results. But it's still hard to swallow. I told him, "look I don't have a husband now and this it partly why, so I need whatever happens to not scare off any potentials". Just trying to get the point across I want this to look as pretty as possible. Other than that, they took pictures, told me to get my cardia clearance and other tests to have done prior to surgery.
Some pictures of my apron taken last year (only like 20lbs ago are on my profile now)

Ask him if he can make you a belly button. MY PS made mine and it looks ok. I had my surgery done in Boca Raton. If you are wanting a second opion I will pass his name on to you. I had 18 pounds removed with my lower lift. including my sides. My PS was able to get the insurance ot pay a LARGE portion of my surgery because he did my hernia repair a tthe same time. I have never take pics of my scars but if you are serious about this I would think about doing it for you.

I've had a few consults, most PS won't even talk to me unless I am at 130. So most of the reason for this is based on my condition, not the surgeon's skill, he is the chief of plastic surgery. I have so many other medical concerns that they don't want to keep me under that long and it's basically not worth the risk of infection etc since the lack of blood supply could cause the BB to die afterwards and require another surgery. Unfortunately, I have to come to terms with this is what I have as my options, but at least I have it as an option, I will be able to get my hernia repair, revision and panni removed. And the plastic will be done by a plastic surgeon not my WLS. So if I have to sacrifice a bellybutton...so be it.
