Has anyone signed up for the Fort Lauderdale Obesityhelp journey

I am really thinking about attending since I stay 10 minutes from Ft. Lauderdale. I have to find a baby sitter ( 4 children) for the event. I would really like to attend. Im afraid of going alone and not knowing anyone there.

I do believe people from one of our local support groups are attending, I have offered up my Expedition as transportation. I didn't attend the one in Orlando but I met people for a night out the Friday before the conference, it was a blast. Don't worry about not knowing people there, just go, you can grab on to me if you want and hang out til you feel better...I personally enjoy meeting new people and sharing experiences. Tracey

I haven't signed up yet, but I'm planning to attend. I have to wait until a bit closer to the time to see if I'll be free that weekend but it is already on my calendar. I went to the conference last June and had a great time and learned a lot! I met lots of new folks, it is fun to be able to put a real face with the folks I'd been "talking" to here. OMG! If you don't go, we'll all find your house and just stop by!!! I live in North Miami...I'll just honk on the way by your exit on 95 and you can just jump in! I went to the Orlando event last summer...drove up by myself...had never met anyone in person just seen their faces here on the boards...and met Vickie, Terri, Heather, Charlie, Jan, Lynda (sorry if I forgot anyone)...just so many new friends!!! We had a blast!!!

Thank you for the responses. I didn't think anyone would write back. I spoke with my husband this afternoon about the conference. He says it's okay for me to attend. I'm looking forward to meeting new people. For some reason, I cant figure out how to add my picture to my profile.

Hi there I live in Southeast Alabama -- but within sptting distance of Florida I will be making the journey and hope to see all my wonderfull Florida Friends there too! BTW--DH and I are looking to move down around Lakeland Wachula area later on thisyear! Can't wait to get back to my homestate! to you all Beckt

Cherina-I am very much looking forward to the Fort Lauderdale event. We had a great time meeting eachother in Orlando and I look forward to renewing old friendships. It is way too early for me to sign up yet though. No worries about not knowing anyone. As time approaches we will start gathering steam and by the time the event arrives we will all know each other a little better. I would like to go, but dont really know many people on this board. I just came back from a long hiatis (sp). I need to go to get back on track after having my daughter. So we will see. Betty
