First Post-op Date!!!

I'm finally going on my first date since WLS. I'm SO nervous!!!!!! He's taking me to dinner & a movie tonight. I work with his brother, so he knows all about my surgery. At least we've gotten that out of the way... Erika

Thanks Heather! I kept putting off dating until after plastic surgery, but at the rate I'm saving up for it... I'd hit menopause 1st!!! I decided to just go for it and said yes when he asked me out. Hugs, Erika

Erika - I'm So HAPPY for you........I know how nice that would be to get to that point. I've kinda met someone as well and hoping to get to that point though he's not a local...ohh...well...I guess it'll happen. Good luck and have fun!!

Well, I'm back and we had a great time!!! He took me to a nice Italian restaurant and then we went to see Mission Impossible III. He treated me like a lady, opening doors, holding my hand when we crossed the street, etc. He kept asking me if I was warm enough in the movie, because I told him how we all freeze after surgery. After the movie he asked if I wanted to get ice cream, then he added "sugar-free" for you. The conversation never stalled. He called to let me know he got home safe and we talked even more. He kept telling me that I looked great and he always added that the most important thing is that I feel good and I have my health back. I'm so glad that I said yes when he asked me out and that I have my WLS family to share this with!!! Special thanks to Amy B. & Sara Margaret who shared their post-op dating experiences with us on the FL Board. Your positive and negative stories helped me prepare myself to jump back into dating.
