Your mom's situation sounds tough. For protein, high-quality shakes could help boost her intake without filling her up too much--jus****ch for low sugar. For vitamins, a bariatric-specific multivitamin might be better than regular OTC options. She may also need extra iron and possibly B12 shots if her levels are low. Keep talking to her doctor about her protein levels and explore options before considering reversal surgery. Sometimes diet tweaks can make a big difference.
I don't have personal experience with the DS to RNY revision, but I've read about others who've gone through it. It sounds like it can really help with hernia issues, and some people have managed to lose weight post-revision, even if it's not as much as with the DS. It might take a bit of time to adjust, though, so definitely keep an open line with your doc and nutritionist about what to expect.
Finally got my butt in gear after lunch yesterday ( Rotisserie chicken, pickled lemons) and worked till six - then Riverwalked last nite - lovely though I made it neither to the lit-up boat nor the George Washington bridge - somewhat farther but still only three miles from my apt. ( Manhattan?s a surprisingly small place on foot lol) Watch clocked 8.5 miles for the day - surprising.
Dinner was shrimp w vodka sauce n fresh basil not homemade so very fatty unfortunately and mango crunch Asian salad . Couldn?t eat very much of either.
More of the same work today after planting.
I?m excited to finally get the terrace garden together even if just before frost. Most of the plants are perennials and bulbs so fall planting is OK. Will give me time to focus on the huge and neglected Long Island garden in the spring hopefully.
Dental cleaning today
B- pastry Greek spinach pie Chai tea latte (homemade )
Snacks- ff sf yogurt, hopefully fruit
L- bites of chicken Parmesan hot sub
D- homemade ff mushroom " cream" soup n a variety of ready made salads
workout - maybe a walk
Have a great day!
When navigating panniculectomy insurance requirements, it's crucial to have thorough documentation from your doctor regarding any medical issues, such as yeast infections in skin folds. A well-prepared case can sometimes lead to approval for an abdominoplasty instead of just a panniculectomy. Make sure to communicate openly with your surgeon about your goals and any necessary letters or evidence to support your claim. Additionally, connecting with others on plastic surgery forums can provide valuable insights and shared experiences to help you through the process.
It?s getting cool in the mornings! Cozying up with flavored coffee lattes and too many bites of tempting pastry .
Despite my best efforts at ? feasting my way through Manhattan ? I can SEE this new accountability is bearing results .
Yesterday I walked ( and gathered ) from 42 street to 59th then subwayed home only to walk two plus miles in Riverside Park.
Central Park, realistically is only an option if I either am willing to drag a wheeled bag behind me or stop stuffing my face temporarily.
Yesterday snack - Basa in zucchini sauce, pint vegetable soup- dinner - Rotisserie chicken breast w Asian sauces.
Midnite snack 1/2 a cro-nut ( gosh they?re fatty ! ) tea
B - Yemeni coffee latte , 1/2 Pret lentil- falafel sandwich and a cup of lemon chicken soup w fresh herbs. L and D tbd .
plans - a little gardening ( finishing up some containers and planting bulbs) then the grant seeking postponed yesterday. Hopefully also starting to file documents in my new rolling file cabinet and tidying .
Turns out I?m still coughing up green stuff a week and a half after the flu shot n Covid booster . Low energy still too.
I'm 12 years out.
Mine got a bit better when I eliminated white flour, bread and pasta.
100% whole wheat causes no problem for me.
Thank goodness Devrom works for me!
Ozium or m9 will fix the air for you!
What did you enjoy the most ?
I wish I could have heard Dr. Now speak but as I live on the East coast and am just ?back to life? so to speak my days now consist of putting out fires ?till I drop, exhausted.
Last nite I got home after eleven half falling asleep . Left two cold kitties on the terrace after they ran out and wouldn?t come immediately back cuz I fell asleep . Now I?m beating myself up for not unpacking the car at seven AM ? grrr .
Food got weird last nite - I was in an Asian neighborhood so I stopped for Asian recipe ingredients- then saw a Wendy?s ( I like their chili) .
Their mobile app gave me a free bacon jr cheeseburger with it and a dollar frosty so I indulged ( only had a small meal at three pm till then) .Delicious but sat like a bowling ball in my stomach ( looked like one too lol) . Remind me to stick to salads .
Plans today - grant seeking document making/ organizing for such , orthopedic in morning ( maybe) chiropractor late afternoon. Wrestling with outdoor TV maker for technician visit ( won?t turn on) and outdoor chair purveyor who never sent my order.
Spoke w my surgeon?s longtime office manager Saturday -she agreed to put me in their book and hopefully I?ll get a few free procedures for the participation.
I wish I had more pleasure in my life than gardening and eating ( and the occasional walk)!
Well opera/ symphony season is almost upon us - and there?s always Florida ( LONG LONG expensive 2 way drive though ) and scary PARENTS No Halloween scares needed here lol!
B- craving probiotics after that meal - ff yogurt w homemade fresh fruit n jam sauce, chai latte pastry bites
L - great lunch ! Lemon chicken soup w fresh parsley and cilantro, crabcake open sammy on toasted olive bread w butterhead lettuce fresh tomato slices and green salsa/cilantro/ fresh parsley lite mayo . Yemeni coffee latte small bites of pastry. Unfortunately too lazy/ tired to make much of an effort today - watching TV. Hoping to work on the inside of the house lol.. work on Something anyway !
D- if I return early enough will stir fry ginger scallion lobster , maybe make Tom Ka Gai ( Thai chicken soup ) and eggplant / yard long beans in Sechuan garlic sauce . All almost fat free except for a bit of healthy sesame oil.
