Hi everyone! I had my gastric sleeve in 2011 and it didn't work out. I didn't have much restriction from the beginning and while I lost about 80lbs, I gained 40 back after dealing with infertility and finally having two babies in the last 3 years. I'm trying to find a great surgeon that does DS surgeries. I live in the Kansas City area and would like to find someone local or within a reasonable driving distance (several hours) or someone in Ohio (because my parents live there and I could stay at their house for a portion of the recovery). Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Dr. Greenbaum has an excellent reputation. It's too bad his staff isn't meeting your expectations. There are very few DS surgeons who do RNY to DS revisions as it's a very complex operation with significant risks, so if you are happy with him as your surgeon, you may want to put up with the rest of the team.
More info for you in a pm.

Welcome back! I would like to hear more about your nutritional crises.
Hi there
I am looking to use Dr. Greenbaum of Virtua in NJ for a revision from RNY to DS. So far I have been impressed by him, but not as much his team which are very slow to get back to you, etc. I wanted to see if anyone else has used Dr. Greenbaum and his team and any info or feedback.
thanks!
This has worked well so far. I spoke with my surgeon (Dr. Gagner) and he said that as we get older out gut changes and this was a needed treatment. He explained that typically they use Flagyl which is stronger but this may work and has no side effects, and it is milder than flagyl. He did say that I will need to replace the good bacteria when this is complete. Does anyone have suggestions for the industrial strength good bacteria?
Questions for those of you who either revised or anyone with a DS:
Do you regret it?
No regrets, not for a millisecond!
Is there anything you wish you would have done differently in the process or recovery period?
No. The surgeon and her staff were quite thorough, and the hospital program is top flight!
How was the recovery for you personally?
I had a rough patch due to dehydration at week 4, but got it turned around and did fine.
Advice, if I were to go through with this? What's something(s) you wish someone had told you beforehand?
RELAX! The process is not easy, but there's no need to stress because you are being watched very carefully for any sign of trouble.
After a years-long absence, I"M BACK !!!!
Some of you may remember me from as far back as 2009, when I first got my DS.
I've been through nutritional crises, extended eldercare (which is what kept me away), and any number of life issues.
I have missed the camaraderie here, and I will post as much as I can, and I'm always reading other posts, even if I'm not posting!
