Just curious has anyone had skin removal surgery or any kind of plastic surgery after weight loss? Was it covered? How long did you wait to have plastics done? Did you reach max weight loss or mid way through weight loss? Thanks so much

Does a longer cc also lessen vitamin deficiencies and improve vitamin absorption?
Hi Jackie, I have the same issue intermittently. I've stopped going to the dr for it bc all they do is tell me to take immodium (sp). So now I just try to be very careful of what I eat. My stomach is always boiling and I have a real problem with gas no matter what or even if I eat or not.

Hello y'all
I am 12 years post -op and been having major stomach issues..chronic diarrhea..nausea..they claim its IBS..I have always had diarrhea since the surgery but now its worse than ever. Has anyone else had any isssues? I have religiously taken vitamins since the day of surgery but my bloodwork came back and I am deficient in A.. D ..magnesium and zinc. I have been losing weight uncontrollably..everyone asks if Im sick?Has anyone experienced this?

Thank you for sharing this portion of your journey, it was very encouraging. Right now I'm addicted to coffee, with flavored powder creamer....but I use Stevia. If I can get rid of that I will be good. The Coke Zero, but I don't think that's bad....but again thanks.

Dr. Lederer does a standard DS with a common channel of 200cm. I went to him AFTER I had my surgery because he seemed more interested in my care post surgery than my own surgeon. He's also good with blood work after but needs more work on vitiamins. Not bad, just like most he wants you to take the bariatric ones which really don't work for most WL patients.

You have every right to have a copy of that report. Demand a copy if you have to. I haven't heard it called BPD/DS since I had my surgery 16+ years ago. I'm a little concerned that your surgeon said the length doesn't matter. That is not at all what I was gold, which was that your common channel will definitely define how much you absorb - the longer the CC the more you absorb. I believe the "average" is 100. I've seen some has short as 50 and as long as 200.
