Finally a Successful Anemia Drug

So I just had my annual labs done. I've always battled anemia and have been getting infusions on and off for at least 14 years.

It always seems that whatever infusion drugs I was given only lasted a year (or less). Last go-around we tried a new drug called Injectafer (I had previous tried Venofer and Ferrlecit within limited success). Well it has been a spectacular success. I had two infusions (one week apart) almost 3 years ago and my latest ferritin results were still well over 100 (145 to be precise). Granted it has been decreasing (the original ferritin was over 350 right after the infusion). Last year it was still in the 200's.

I hope everyone had a happy new year!

I am glad that worked so well for you. I don't know what they used for my last infusion. It was in June 2018 and my ferritin last month was 145.

Hi Janet, Are you in Leesburg, Florida? I am asking because I live there. I wanted to know the name of your doctor that gave you the infusions as I am currently needing one. It seems so difficult to find a doctor that cares.
Thank you for any help on this.
Angel
