9 1/2 Years in the Making....
...But Finally TODAY I got notice that my approval for my DS was sent to my surgeon from Aetna. After such a long journey, my extended family assumed I gave up on the fight to get it approved. Other than my husband, best friend, sister in law, and mother (who passed away in 2013) no one knows I have been pursuing WLS since the repeated appeals and denials back in 2008.
Currently waiting for the surgeons office to verify benefits and maximums. As soon as that is all taken care of they will call to schedule surgery. I should have a date by the end of the week!!
This is my first post in over 9 years and by now I am a total stranger to everyone here. Still, I had to share with someone cause I am SO excited but still not ready to share with family. I'll probably wait until I am post op and go to my nephews wedding in May.
Thank you! Moving to a new state, changing jobs and getting a different insurance carrier helped a ton! :) (Yea for Costco benefits!!) Anyway, the surgeon's office called me right before they closed for the evening. My surgery is scheduled for April 14th. One day prior to my husbands 40th birthday! :( It was either pick that day or cancel our trip to attend our nephew's wedding and have surgery in May.
I am so excited for you! Way to persevere.
