Malabsorption after 12 years

Hi Colleen,

There is some evidence that the mal absorption can lessen over time although I haven't seen any numbers put to that.

I've heard Dr. Keseshian on one of his webinars that there are villi? that are used in the absorption process and he has seen, doing revisions, that they can become thicker and more populous over time. The implication that it wasn't a drastic change but still seemed to be there.

I've found that even after 4 years I have to watch what I'm eating more than I did the first couple of years. Usually I go back to a protein first diet and cut back on portions or I up my exercise. I started out at 464 and now fluctuate between 220 and 235.

I find myself more in the frame of mind that I do have to watch how much I am eating along with what I am eating. I sometimes do WW as a way to be more accountable although I modify their plan a little to play to the strengths of my DS.

I had my surgery some years ago-not sure how many, perhaps 20. My top weight was 290 and I now weigh 123, which is too low. I initially got down to 150 and then 135 and then slowly up to 150 and then down to 145. But now I have been slowly losing weight without trying to and while eating anything I want, and it seems like I am eating constantly all day long.

I have been chronically ill for many years which started with Lyme Disease and progressed to chemical and food sensitivities, and then after 10 years of mold exposure, got much worse. I had mistaken diagnoses of MS along the way, and I do also have a problem with low blood pressure, for which I have to take a couple of medications and I am still intensely fatigued and lightheaded.

I suspect that I have multiple nutritional deficiencies. I am alone in
Dallas, TX and am really too ill to make sure I get all my supplements. There are way too many of them. I know that something in the 50 or so makes me feel better. But which ones?

Can anyone recommend a nutritionist or bariatric surgery specialist who can help figure this out?

Or any volunteers who might help out an ill person who is alone?
