simple carbs and diabetes

Hello. Idk if this is a dumb question or not but. From what i understand the ds is supposed to help cure diabetes in some people or decrease it or w.e. but how can that be if you absorb 100 percent of simple carbs? 

Type 2 is most likely caused by intestinal hormones.  When you bypass the part of the small bowel that produces these hormones, production drops dramatically and your type 2 goes away.  It's NOT a sure thing, but the remission rate is over 90%.

simply put, we should not be eating a lot of simple carbs so the absorption rate becomes less important.  We should be eating high protein low carb. Surgery is not a magic bullet.
