what a great post!  I wish I had a dietitian that would at least listen to what DSers say

If you have a specific question for me, PM me or I will not see it, as I don't check responses on the forums and don't have anything forwarded to my email.

Oh my gosh, if my ferritin was in the 200's I would most likely cry from happiness. Right now mine is at 7. Single digits. I start transfusions on the 10th.

Iron Serum: 38 NORMAL (normal range 35-155)

Iron Saturation: 9 LOW (normal range 15-55)

Uibc: 379 HIGH (normal range 150-375)

TIBC: 417 NORMAL (normal range 250-450)

My doc says i'm not anemic though. Hopefully the transfusions help.

Great post Gina.  I don't even bother with a dietitian.  I don't even go over my labs with my PCP.  She calls or emails when she thinks my levels are too high.  I had iron infusions in June/July.  My iron came up nicely, will go back on tender iron and proferrin to see if I can keep my levels up.  Still fight to keep my potassium up, other than that, my levels were good on my last draw.  I'm 7.5 yrs out.

Great post, Thank you for writing all that out. I would love to have your passion for tweaking labs and numbers. Maybe someday you can hire yourself out to help us all be better at getting good labs.
