so as the subject says had my duodenal switch sept 30th. 1st week i had massive gas. that has not been much of a problem these past couple of days though. Last night i consumed pureed tuna fish for lunch and pureed egg salad for dinner. this moring i have noticed that when i went to the bathroom i had oil drops in the toilet.  I have just noticed that i had an oil stain on my bed sheets. I hope this is not something im going to have to deal with forever. Anyone deal with this?

You need to cut back on your fat intake while you are still recovering. Time will/should take care of it though. Later you can increase your fat intake, but I wouldn't do it all at once.

Too much fat TOO soon...as soon as you start taking your calcium and iron AND healed, it should resolve.

Diarrhea/oil slicks , cut back

Brick butt or dry skin, ADD fat.

I was still on liquids at that point so I didn't have anything like that.
You are about a week out so some of that may be unavoidable as you heal. I had a lot of Dh the first week I was home and when I started foods.
Not something you will live with forever. A lot of strange things can happen the first month that have nothing to do with the rest of your life.

Did you mayo in both the tuna and egg salad? Even a little fat early out might cause issues. Was this the first solids you've eaten? It seems every ones
surgeons can be different on when and how to eat post-op.

For a VERY new and healing system...yeah.

It does get better...but maybe ONE or the OTHER not both in the same day. FOR NOW...
