I think I may be going with the SADI-S or Loop DS.......anyone else had this done?
Wow, Mel, your results are wonderful!
Since this is a new procedure, how are your nutrition levels ? Is there anything you're keeping an eye on or having trouble getting up to normal? I've been hoping for someone to follow and see if this may be the next up and coming procedure.

Thanks for your reply. My doctor too is "pushing" the SADI-S (loop). I have had some negative feedback - just from people who have had the traditional DS and encouraging me to stick with what is tried and true. I think they have a very valid point but I do see some of the benefits of this procedure vs. traditional ds. What did Dr. Roslin say to you that convinced you that you would go this route? Have you had any trouble with acid back up....rather bile reflux accross the pyloric valve...issues with this? Did Dr. Roslin address this or any potential set backs with you?
I haven't had any issues with acid back up/or bile reflux. I hAd a mild case of GERD before surgery which I was on nexium and now I'm on Pepcid 40mg, daily. Dr. roslin said that the results are the same in terms of weight loss but he said if you were a severe diabetic then I would agree with the standard DS otherwise the loop DS is fine for you..
Hi Val. The main issue I had with the procedure is a severe Thiamine deficiency and low d along with low frolic acid.. Everything is resolved now. Dr Roslin has been promoting this procedure for the last two years . I wasn't going to take his advice in the beginning but I'm so glad I did. I had to see Dr. Roslin in August because I kept loosing weight and it was not slowing down. I eat 4/6 small high protein meals along with protein drink. Dr Roslin stated for me to aim for 90 grams of protein a day.. As long as I have a 20/30 protein drink I am able to get to 90 grams of protein a day.

Your SADI sounds like *my* DS!
I, too have to use protein drinks to get my 90-100 in, and sometimes, even with the extra calories, I
"sleep off" weight, sometimes as much as five pounds in a night. I do keep to my 3 times a week
workout schedule, but even then, I have to take it easy, due to Systemic Lupus and Fibromyalgia.
I'm willing to eat more and do what it takes to stay healthy, because I don't want anyone coming
at me with a revision scalpel ! I've already been through seven "re-wardrobings", and that's enough!
I swear most of the human population is low in D and doesnt' even know it! You know about the 50,000iu dry D from biotech, right? It sounds like your nutritional guidelines are very similar so you're in the right place lurking on this board. I look forward to your continued progress.
