Signed Consent & Pre-Surgery Diet Starts Tomorrow
Good Luck!! I'm on day 26 post surgery, so I just went though this. It was hard, especially since I wanted to do a "Goodbye to Yummy Food" Tour. I think it was a very good thing in hindsight. Mostly, it was the first sword in my relationship to food. Then the surgery and the recovery happens and now I am back to being able to eat soft, but normal. I can't remember how things used to be. I remember telling myself that I could put up with any diet for a few weeks. Once you have your surgery the world will tilt and it is a glorious thing!

We can't wait to hear from you post-op!
We will be sending strength your way. What you learned / suffered through for the last few weeks will help a lot over the next month. My only advice for the next few days is to not be a hero with the pain meds. Take all you need. One of my doctors told me the second night was the worst and it was for me. I was just restless and the surgery pain meds were enough out of my system and I didn't ask for any other kind of pain meds. Actually, all together I took maybe 3 doses of pain meds, probably way too few. I think I was expecting BIG pain and it wasn't like that for me. Just uncomfortable, but that adds up after a while.
Congratulations!
