What triggers me for horrific gas that is really bad and goes on and on and on is..... Milk, a few drinks ok, a whole glass, watch out. Also flour. Anything with flour, bread, tortilla, any kind of crust, chicken pot pie crust, just anything with flour. I used to be scared of food and the thought of being in public, now Ive figured out what causes the problems. If Im eating out, I always stick with protein, no new anything, like sauces and such. When Im at home and I want the gas causing items, I just know that me and my family are going to pay. They say my gas is amazing and not in a good way...lol They think its funny when I can tell them exactly what it was that is causing the upset. Its like excuses excuses...lol I can say one thing for the DS, if your a shy person before the surgery, you wont be afterward.... eating right is your only way around it.....lol

I think Devrom or some other chlorophyll like pill is worth looking at along with heavy duty probiotics.

You may want to talk to your Doc about doing a dose of Flagyl which is supposed to kill off all the old bacteria
and then a good probiotic to repopulate correctly.

if your examining your diet you may want to track a couple of days and post what you have. Rather than general
suggestions people might see something that triggered gas for them specifically.

Yep what everyone else said:

1. Elimination diet (carbs, dairy sweetener, etc)

2. Probiotics

3. Flagyl as a last resort.

Try 1 and 2 for a couple of days which should be enough to let you know if they work.

I had horrible thrush as a result of flagyl so I don't advocate it lightly, but I was suffering painful abmonial cramps in the morning before I'd eaten anything bad, so I knew it was an imbalance and don't regret taking it as I feel I had no choice.  I'd take flagyl again if things got to that point, but I'd have anti-thrush treatments at the ready (ie creams, pessaries and antibiotics such as fluconazole).

Flagyl completely got rid of my gas within a few hours and has kept it at better levels in the intervening 4 months.

So odd how we all are effected differently...cereal, chips and crackers... Do me in... But other carbs.. Nothing. I could eat sugar all day and nothing but maybe softer stool... Hope you find the culprit..
