Resleeve or not during sleeve to DS revision

Revision to DS - 03/18/13 - 290lbs

Current weight: 215lbs

Lowest weight: 197lbs in January 2014. I re-gained because for 4 months I had to stop exercising and take birth control pills due to fibroid removal surgery.

 Height: 5' 8"

Goal weight: 195 [waiting for the day when I can just be overweight, not obese].

Hi, I'm in the same position you were in. Did you end up getting a re-sleeve in addition to DS? My doctor doesn't want to resleeve me but I feel like I can eat way too much and don't want to get a DS loop if it won't work.

If I were not having some adjustment of the sleeve, I would not have the DS. You can sabotage the wt loss, and then the maintenance doesn't matter. It is a two part surgery, and it is easy to supplement protein. Not a tight resleeve, but at least a "trim." I am 4 years out.

Hi, I had VSG in 2007. Starting weight 325. Revised to DS in 2011-starting weight pre DS was 265or so. My current weight is 145, I am 5'5 female. I did not have a resleeve, although I thought I would need one. My surgeon said no, my sleeve was already smaller than he makes his DS sleeves. Good Luck to you!!
