I will be 3 months out on Aug 8. Started at size 26 pants, currently a 18. 3x-4x tops. Currently a Lg-Xl. Size 11 underwear, currently a size 8. I lost 30 pounds in the month before my DS, and have lost 52 since my DS. That's 82 pounds so far!! The numbers on the scale show me nothing compared to how I feel, and in my opinion, how I look!

Congratulations on your awesome results. I am hoping to have the DS in five or six weeks. Can you tell me anything that you think I should know? I really don't know what to expect after having surgery. I have had my initial meeting with my surgeon, but don't really know what it will be like after surgery. It is my understanding that I will only be allowed liquids after surgery. How long were you on liquids after your surgery? Can you really "drink" anything after surgery, or is it just "sipping" all day every day? As I understand it is difficult to get the amount of protein in that you need. It seems that it would have to be protein shakes all day every day. I would appreciate anything that you might be able to share with me.

I can say that protein was not a big concern of mine right after surgery. My focus was to stay hydrated. Literally sipping all day long. I have been sent in 2 times for dehydration and that was with getting 64oz of fluids a day. I didn't follow my surgeons guidelines for 90g protein a day. I went by the 30-60-90 rule. 30g by 30 days, 60g by 60 days ans 90 by 90days. I can easily get my protein in now at almost 3 months out. I snack constantly through the day. I keep cheese and summer sausage in my fridge at all times. It is an easy grab and go protein snack. I live on powerade zero. That has been my go to for hydration since surgery. It took me 8 weeks to feel "normal" again. I am no longer exhausted and I can drink nice big drinks without pain. Just after surgery I could not tolerate cold drinks. Everything had to be room temp or warm. I lived on chicken broth as a source of fluids. I couldn't be happier with my decision to have my DS. Everyone's journey is different, but mine has been amazing!

AMAZING WORK!!!!! you look fantastic!!! this is just the beginning!  Your WHOLE life will change from this point on. Not one chip, french fry or milkshake tastes as good as being healthy feels.  Being able to take a DEEP breath is the best thing I could ever have done for myself.  People who haven't been in our position don't understand that but it is worth ALL of the pain, frustration and aggrivation just to be able to breathe!  You are doing great!  Keep up the amazing job!  (P.s. you also look so much younger and brighter!!!!!)
