I went to my surgeon for a ds. Was approved for a ds but

I am not so positive what he is going to do is a ds. Now I am a revision from a bypass so o am not sure if that makes a difference.  If people could look at this picture and tell me if it makes sence to you. I have poor vision and therefore am not a visual person and none of these pictures make any sence to me.

Thanks for your help

Dr. roslin has an excellent reputation as a DS surgeon and is known to do revisions of RNY to DS, but his drawing leaves something to be desired. I can't tell if it's a classis DS or a singe anastamosis DS, which most people don't want...though I think it's a classic DS. I'm just not sure. There is clearly a sleeve gastrectomy in the picture, which is part of the DS.

the key question to ask him at this point would be a simple one - is this a classic DS or a single anastamosis DS? Those are the only possibilities that I can see from this picture. It is clearly not ERNY, and that's good.

Ask him! You need to know, and there is no one better to tell you than the surgeon himself. And if you're still not clear, keep asking until you are clear. This is an important question and you have every right to get an answer that is clear to you. I'm sure it's clear to your surgeon, and he probably thinks he has made it clear to you as well, but obviously that is not yet the case.

Thank you.. if it is not an rny I am good.. i believe his intention was the sadi and even though I did not understand the picture I asked him if he was doing the 2 limba and common channel and he said well he was going to do a loop. I said well I want the 2 limbs and not the loop and he said if that's we hat I eant bit thr it is a longer surgery and I said I kniw.. but i was concerned because of his attitude and mostly cause the authorization  he wanted me to sign clearly gave the description of a rny and I made hi. Rewrite it so I felt like things were amiss...

But if that picture clearly is not am r u than I am hsppier..

Cheryl, your post is hard to interpret due to abbreviations and typos, but I think yo are saying that you told Dr. Roslin that you want the classic DS with defined alimentary and BP limbs and not a loop operation. I would only recommend that you clarify with him before your surgery that this is the only operation that you want (unless, of course, there is some specific reason from your prior surgery that makes it impossible) and even put on your consent form something about it. Beyond that, I can't really figure out what you're saying.

I agree with everything Laara said. Put specifically in your authorization "No single-loop procedure" just to be sure.
