Just dropping in.
I was going thru all the old bookmarks on my computer and found ObesityHelp again. Haven't been on for more than 4 year and the only names I still recognize are Major Mom and Beam Me Up Scotty.
Just a quick update. I was revised from a crappy Lapband to DS on 10/16/2009. My highest recorded weight was 261 (highest unrecorded 292 :-( ). I am now at 138 and in disgustingly good health. All co-morbidities are gone and all my lab work looks beautiful. I can eat just about anything. I am now somewhat lactose intolerant and rice makes me fart, but I can live with that. On a personal level I feel younger than I did at 30 (now 51) and I met the love of my life and got married on St Patrick's day.
All in all life post DS is great.
To all of you just starting this journey, it is well worth the hoop jumping and recovery time. I wish you well.
Karen
