Would you drive back from the surgery?

Do you wish you had waited longer to drive or took a plane? 

Are there any area specifically you are worried about?  Perhaps the power of the mighty online Obesity Help community could give you some localized information.  Good luck. 

I wish I could have taken a plane. But my surgery was emergency surgery and we did not have enough to pay a full fare; we would have had to schedule ahead to get a good price.

I'm sure age and health status make a difference as to when you should leave. I was 67 but healthy when i had my DS surgery in Nov 2012. Still, my age probably slowed recovery. It was 4 weeks before i felt moderately human, even then, I doubt I would have traveled well. Will you have someone to follow up with medically when you get home?

I had to drive from Mississippi to Georgia 6 days after surgery.  It was a pretty miserable ride for me.  Every little bump hurt, so I made the driver slow down.  That coupled with all my bathroom breaks made the trip a lot longer than it normally would have been.  I hope everything goes well for you!
