Energy Level

I'm up around 5:30-6:00.  I nap at lunchtime in my car.  Generally in bed around 8:00.  On the weekends, I'll get up (damn dogs don't know what weekends are!), have breakfast and read the paper, then back to bed or fall asleep on the couch.  Someone suggested my anti-depressant dosage needed to be changed since my weight loss, so my doctor told me to drop it back to half a pill, which would be 10mg of Lexapro.

I did a little experiment and stopped taking my Lexapro for a little over a week.  After about 2 days of not taking it, I felt so much more energetic and slept great.  Then the depression hit, wickedly hard, and I had to start taking it again after about 6 days.

Well I'm not taking any depressant pill, even though my doctor gave me a prescription after I had a complete melt down. Do you have a kid and husband, I'm thinking I might betired because Im missing those things on my life. Do you them?

Thanks

No kids, no husband.  3 dogs and a few amazing friends. I'm happy with my life.  My depression is a family thing on my dad's side.  I have a twin and she suffers from it, too.  So does my dad and younger brother.  It wasn't until recently that I realized when my grandma was on "nerve pills", she was actually popping Xanax like M&Ms...

Thanks, let me know if you find out the problem.  I am going to be doing on-going accessment of myself with minor changes.  I was like perhaps its the caffiene, perhaps I need to start doing B-12 shots, perhaps its the overload in carves, but yesterday I barely had any and I was still tired by 7:30.  I know when I drink sugar alcohole, I get extremely sleepy.  I was wonder if my blood sugar gets a certain level in the day/night...my body tanks out.  However, all I know is since I had this surgery I go comotose when I go to sleep, definitely not a light sleeper anymore.

I've had insomnia for as long as I can remember, but only this level of fatigue in the last year and a half or so...Been taking the anti-depressant for almost 2 1/2 years.  And I'm a very light sleeper, which isn't good for someone who lets her dogs sleep with her...

FYI, just something to consider because I notice whenever I get sick, my energy drops extremely.  I need some dental work, but as we all know dental work can be expensive.  Lately I have been having issues with my teeth, and since I have an infection this could be causing me to be tired.  Saving up some money now so I can get a root canal, tooth abstracted and a tooth implant...so the infection could be what is causing me the fatigue.  The doctor gave me an antibotic I need to start taking this week.  Since I had the surgery whenever I get a cold, fever, heavies day on my cycle, it drains me completely.  Just wanted to share..so you could consider as well.

Plus in the back of my mind I thought it was hormonal because at times I am moody, and experience anxiety.  Who konws, I am going to have to get to the root of this, because maybe a child is still in my future, but how I feel now...OH HECK NO!

Maybe time to consider counseling, if you're not going already?

Hi Clutterbunny,

I am still trying to get to the root of my problem. They said with the right probotic will prevent these issues.  My probiotic may not be strong enough.  These are the side affects, which seems like I am experiencing all of them.  I keep getting bacteria build up/an infection in my gums.....and etc.  So I will do some adjustments.  Trial and Error of trying to get to the bottom of things.

Common symptoms of yeast overgrowth include:

  • Recurrent vaginitis
  • Recurrent viral and bacterial infections
  • Sore throat, itchiness in nose and/or ears
  • Fatigue, feeling drained or ill
  • Digestive problems (such as bloating, gas, diarrhea)

My energy has been AMAZING!!!! especially recently as I have started following a strict Paleo type lifestyle.  I am four years out.  I have cut out all coffee and artificial sweetners and just eating good FOOD has made an increible difference!!!  I'm also WAY more regular, no bloating, gas or bubble guts.  I get up at 5:00 Am to do an hour of morning cardio, work all day as a sales manager at a large hotel and do personal training at night then do 1.5 hours of lifting followed by 30 minutes of steady cardio before going home to shower and settle down for the evening.

I will keep that in mind, but love my coffee in the morning, it would be hard to get away from.   My problem I sleep too much, but I think I am figuring it out.  I have a fever, so the fever could be swaping my energy.
