Dr. Keshishian - Self-Pay VSG-to-DS Revision
I'm not his patient but those that are sing his praises like crazy. Very highly respected DS surgeon and he takes on very difficult revisions as well.

I had Dr. K. And I got a great rate because he was trying to get a hospital program in LA certified. So 14K can cover the surgery under certain cir****tances. Double check what that quote covers - if the surgery will be in Delano, than that quote can't be the total bill.
I love Dr K. The hospital in LA sucked, but the surgery went well. He is very well respected, and I think he has done more DS surgeries than Rabkin in SF. He is one of the leading surgeons for this surgery.
If you got a quote of 14K for surgery and hospital because he is trying to get a 3rd hospital/program certified - jump on it. It's the same price as going to Mexico.
Yes, this is in Delano. This is what his office told me.
"The cash price for an open revision of an SG to DS is $14,000.00 and the price for a laparoscopic revision of an SG to DS is $15,000.00. The hospital portion for both is $7650.00. Our office portion is $6350.00 for open and $7350.00 for laparoscopic. As I mentioned in our previous conversation, the total cost for both procedures include a 2-year follow-up, nutritional evaluation, program fee of $4000.00, surgeon, assistant surgeon, and hospital/facility fees: anesthesia, radiology, and pathology."
That's good info. Still, 30K for the operation isn't bad. I have heard others who had insurance pay for it and it was over 100K.
Delano is kinda out in the middle of no where, but it is a nice facility. I would have preferred to have my operation there rather than the LA hospital.
And he is good at the DS. And he seemed to want to go shorter on the common channel, whereas many surgeons want to go longer.
