4 days!!!
My DS surgery is in 4 days! I cannot believe the time is almost here! So far this 2 week preop diet has been going smoothly. I've lost 15 pounds do far. I'm not too nervous for surgery yet. I am more nervous about my 10 month old being without me while I am at the hospital. My husband is great, but he works 3rd shift, so she is used to me and very attached. I hope her daddy can keep up while I am away. He took vacation, so he can be home. I am so excited for Thursday!!

You'll do great. The hospital staff will take great care of you while daddy gets an opportunity for some fabulous bonding with his little girl.
When you get home, have her climb up on the couch or chair with you. Whatever you do, DON'T pick her up for 2 months. Get on the floor an hug her, have her come to you, but don't risk a hernia.

my surgery was on Wednesday and I was discharged yesterday the hospital staff was awesome I too have a four year old who I was missing tremendously I was so glad to come home and see her make sure when she's hugging and kissing on you you protect your stomach because the littlest touch May set you are in pain.
Thank you guys! I am excited. I had another abdominal surgery a few months ago, and my husband kept the kids occupied every day so I could heal. I also have a 9 year old who is the biggest help ever, so I think I will be ok. I know I have to avoid picking my little one up which will be hard, but I can snuggle her, so that will make up for it. Once some weight is off, I will have more energy to invest in my kids anyways!

My son was 11 when I had my DS and it was such an esteem builder for him to realize how capable he was, from simpe meals for himself like mac&cheese to helping with laundry. I, too, realized to not underestimate what he can do, too. I hope your 9yr old gets the same experience.
