Losing...

May 14th will be my one year anniversary. I love my DS. I'm still trying to get the poop/gas thing under control, but its okay. I've gone from 213 to 126. I'm 5' 4 and 3/4". I'm not sure how much thinner I can get. I never thought I would have to worry about getting too thin. I just do not want to end up in the teens. I look good in clothes and pretty scrawny without clothes. When is it time to worry? Does everyone rebound? I'm not complaining only thinking about things if I keep losing.

Why would you get DS if you only weighed 213?....

There are many lightweights that have gotten the DS. I had two failed lap bands and one needed to come out. I have up yo yoed my entire life and was starting to have help problems. The doctor felt like the DS was the best surgery for me and he was right. I wish I would have done it years ago. I'm about where I would like to be weight wise. I was just wondering how much more weight did others think I might lose.

I had the ds 16 months ago and my weight ranges from 130 to 132 and I'm 5'6" so I'm also pretty thin, size 2 pants and small xs tops. I've seem to have stopped losing not to say I couldnt lose more if I wanted to but i'd look pretty sick if I lost anymore. You can adjust what your eating to maintain but I just let mine go because I know I will gain some back!

Wow, congrats - you've done awesome!!

Bounce back gets most people - you have to be a real saint to dodge that bullet, so don't stress too much and go as low as your body wants to take you.  You're quite a ways from the underweight category and I do understand that you start figuring that at your current rate you'll be underweight in 6 months but there is creon if it really comes to it - although you'll probably try some carbs before it comes to that

Oh wow, congrats...I remember those days, so enjoy and get as much weight off as possible because some people snap back to about 10lbs later.   And the poop and gas, is a working progress, all the way down the line it does get better.  I carry a small spray inside my bra.  I use Margarita Island for bath and body, its in a small can, and small body called Diva from Tyler Candle company....Like I said a work and progress, but congrats!!!

I am still pre-op but I have seen on other sites and facebook pages where many say they get really low and 10-20 lbs. "bounce back".  I would think if you are getting worried to speak with your doctor/surgeon.  I know there are things you do to slow the losing down but do not know for sure what it is.

We are the exact same height. My highest weight was 245, surgery weight 225. I'm now out 19 months and hover between 117-121. Naked is not pretty. I am 'tiny' which I have never been in my life. My labs are good, I get in my protein everyday and am diligent with my vites. While I am close to underweight, I am not really worried about it. Was I so worried about all the ill effects of being MO when I was? Perhaps I was when I finally decided to have my DS.

Since October, I have been adjusting my carbs, increasing my protein and continuing to look for my "sweet spot" for maintenance.  Since then I have not dipped below 117. Perhaps this is quite thin, but I don't feel unhealthy. If I were to drop into true "underweight," I would talk to my Dr about adding Creon or something to increase absorption. I'm not in a rush to do that at this point, as I do believe that bounce back can come over the next few years. In the meantime, I work on learning to see myself as I am today. That is taking me more time than losing the weight did!

I swear I need therapy. Now I'm jealous. (Kind of) I'm sure  I will be fine. I was just wondering if I would lose more. I weighed 116 when I got married so being this thin isn't foreign to me. Congrats on your weight loss!
