Eating Paleo
More like NO junky carbs, entire premise being that the majority of carb nutrition gathered is obtained from VEGETABLES and some fruit. I am ELEVEN years post op, my anniversary is 4/18 and i have kept of 83 pounds consistently of the 120 that I originally lost (I was a "little" as my surgeon called me at 270lbs). I discovered paleo/primal in January, 2013 when I accidentally came across the book WHEATBELLY and I haven't eaten wheat since. I am working on a grain free lifestyle and it is difficult but worth it. I eat now from a perspective of feeling great with way more energy and mental clarity than I've ever had, oh and after the first 25 days of no wheat that pesky knee pain that had nagged me for years? GONE. Good sources for paleo/primal living Marksdailyapple.com Whole9life.com (or just Google Whole 30) and Wheatbelly.com. Recipes? NomNomPaleo canNOT be beat and WellFed by Melissa Joulwan. I hope you ladies find your way in this thing as it is a long but ultimately uber worth it road, the one piece of advice I wish someone had told me??? Whatever you put in your body for fuel, make it count! Make sure it's NUTRITIOUS and FUELS YOU WELL! Don't waste your space with EMPTY CALORIES that offer no nutritional value. (Thinking this way eliminates a WHOLE LOT of junky carbs that we put in without ever noticing.) Warmest Regards!
