Eating Paleo

I am thinking about modifying my diet to a more Paleo based approach.  The Paleo approach: "The Paleo Diet is an effort to eat like we used to back in the day…WAY back in the day. If a caveman couldn't eat it, neither can you. This means anything we could hunt or find – meats, fish, nuts, leafy greens, regional veggies, and seeds". This boils down to  a low carb type of eating template.... good right.  Paleo has been critisized as being high in fat, which is good for us DSrs, right? Anyone have any knowledge, or any resources of DSrs and the Paleo plan?

I was wondering about Paleo... I've been seeing a lot of recipes for it on pintrest.

Gina/MajorMom supplied me with this 'reformed paleo' link http://paleoleap.com/place-of-dairy-on-paleo-diet/

It includes dairy, which normal paleo doesn't and I think that's a good thing for us DSers.

This guy has good stuff and the particular recipe on this link is yum http://civilizedcavemancooking.com/grain-free-goodies/paleo- banana-bread/

Dairy isn't good for DSers because a lot of us can't handle it.

A lot of DSers are fine with low lactose options such as heavy cream, Greek yogurt and cheese (the fermentation in cheese and yogurt makes them more easily digestible).

Does it mostly depend on the length of the common channel?

I've got a 75cm CC which is pretty short and I'm OK on the low lactose options.  I did pretty strict Atkins for the first 6 months, so I think avoiding things that are 'iffy' early out may have helped.

I gave up fad diets when I gave up the DS, and the whole idea of "lifestyle change" is a load of crap.

There - that being said, I think the DSer would probably do best on this diet....but it's still a fad.

It has always looked like low carb  to me!  I have cooked a lot of recipes classified as paleo.
