Hello everyone! Just wanted to say this surgery has already become a life changer for me! Today I am 19 days post surgery and down 36 pounds post surgery and 57 pounds since start of my 2 week liquid diet.Just wanted to see if this is about normal weight loss over this period of time(34 days). I am amazed how fast the weight is coming off. I do have very low energy still today, but I am doing very well. I am a very big guy, highest weight was 476 so prob why its coming off so fast. Even after all my research I wouldn't have thought I would be getting so many of my old clothes back I couldnt fit in in the first month! Just wanted to continue to share my journey just like so many of you guys have done for me. I figure it helped me make this decision and there may be another person who is also very heavy wondering if this surgery is for them. I am so excited to see what this new year brings. Some of my small personal goals are already taking shape. Thanks for all the support on here and I hope everyone keeps moving forward!!!-Mike

Generally, the bigger you are the faster you lose in the beginning.  You also have another big advantage, you are male.  If you are careful with carbs you will probably make your goal!

Nope. I'm just beginning. I meet the surgeon, dietitian, and psychologist at the U of Chicago next week.

I enjoy seeing other people doing well, helps me keep a positive attitude !
