medical alert bracelets

I ended up in the emergency room in my hometown.  No one familiar with ds.  The nurse said I should be wearing a medical alert bracelet that says no blind gi and other info.  This was new to me.  Does anyone else use one and what else should be on it related to ds?  Thanks in advance!

That blind GI really applies to the RNY not the DS or sleeve. I just carry a card in my wallet that shows a picture of the DS configuration and has my surgeon's contact info on the back.

Okay, no blind gi is RNY info sounds like the nurse knows about THAT one...but we aren't RNY'ers.

I've had a medic alert necklace (DESPISE bracelets) since 1980...after I had my DS in 2011, I just ADDED the information to my list of medical conditions (I also REMOVED the information on my insulin pump :) ) But had I not had one already, I would not get it just for the DS. I WOULD keep that info available in your wallet (the diagram as well as contact info for your DS surgeon)or scan it into a cloud service like dropbox or box (both have apps for smart phones) and make it so you can access it offline.

We can be scoped just fine, unlike the RNY folks.  I never got one because even if I should be injured and not able to help myself for a few days, no big deal.  And if it was a catastrophic injury it doesn't matter because I'm going to die anyway!
