Fischula 6 years later,absess and dr wants convert bypass,too light already??

I'm scared to death,in may 2008 I had the sleeve , I was 190 high blood pressure and gaining every year. So the sleeve sounded great went to recommended dr in Mexico, then 7 years later e.r. Finds a mass, it took forever as no one wanted to touch Mexico surgery, one dr wanted to cut me 8 inches breast bone down to find leak. It was done by 2nd best hospital in USA, they went thru throat to seal tiny hole. Dodged a bullet. But my 132 I've enjoyed for 5 solid years went to 128 , 124 and now 120, I'm scared to death. I don't love the bariatric industry, reminds me of realtors or used car salesmen, but  now the absess is making me sick 3 months a tube, 2 mo home Iv and I'm so scared, so this new dr says let's do a bypass,I cried said no, I will die. I'm so swollen with absess, the tube didn't drain sludge that collected over several years. He said maybe a tube huge thumb size. I can't go from a sleeve to bypass can I,   Has anyone, it's reduction 30% more stomach.     Omg I feel like im dying. I got to 118 lbs and literally force myself,to choke down ravioli for its high caloric and small portion. I'm down right desperate, 4 kids .

                   A note, when a bag was put on gut I drained first 2 weeks and could eat a entire sandwich, I was happy, I wanted to be fat again if skinny meant death. Besides I was lightweight VGs, that's why I choose it.  So absess makes my sleeve intruded and less appetite, the absess removed will allow me to eat more, but what will a bypass do.  I have an appointment with dr in 3 days and I will find the right dr if it kills me. I'm so scares. Damn fischula. Also since first year I noticed I felt uncomfy after eating I'd slouch back. And we all have gurgles I have hear, I had male sleeve friend who had dinner with me and he ate 4 x more than me. This absess has made eating hindered so will by pass make it even harder or will taking 30 percent more is a ton and tiny tummy I will just die because I can't eat. Please chime in with anything.i need food for thought, any words or thought, detail please

im so depressed, 4 kids and this, regret surgery if I knew it would end up this way, even my infection dr said no way gastric bypass. I just need absess removed now, and the holes gone, new dr was told leak is gone and said he's not sure after seeing it in video, why ???!!!    Fischula start at top usually, and also ulcers roofer sting is rare, so hole is from what?  But most of all it was pencil lead size and it leaked over years and now I need to be opened and cleaned period not bypass. Just clean out.  Why bypass talk, is it more money ....  Please any words, I'm beyond depressed,I hate life right now

It can be done but I don't think I would want it either.  I recommend consulting with a surgeon who actually does DS....because they are also very familiar with sleeve as well as bypass.  This doc you're seeing is probably talking bypass because it's what he's most comfortable with.  That's no reason to compromise, IMO.

Are you able to see a DS surgeon who is expert in revisions?  Here are two:

You may want to consider contacting a revision surgeon to see if you can consult via phone, Skype, or email.  Get a second opinion.  A couple of our vets have dealt with something similar and are ok now.  Best wishes to you.

I'm sorry you have had such a hard time with your sleeve. I don't understand why a Doctor would want to do either a bypass or a DS. I would be with the infection Doctor. Fix the abcess and make sure there are no more leaks. I hope you find someone that will fix you up. Feel better!

I'm so sorry.  I can feel your fear and frustration in your post.  At first I wasn't sure why they were talking about given you a bypass but I'm thinking that the abscess has ruined your stomach so they want to give you a pouch now.  Is that how you interpret it?  I agree that I would contact the 2 revision surgeons so you can find a way to keep your stomach.

In the meantime can you drink protein shakes?  I will pray for you to get a quick and healthy resolution to this horrible situation.
