vitamins
I keep some bottles in shelves in my study. That's more long term 90 days plus. I have a pull out drawer in my kitchen and those bottles are more near term. Lastly, I have a 30 day vitamin organizer I bought at Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/MedCenter-Day-Vitamin-Organizer-white/ dp/B001DU7BMQ/ref=sr_1_8?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1394323645&sr=1-8

I have a weekly, 4 times a day divider. I plan on buying 3 of them so I can sit down every 4 weeks and fill them instead of every week. I then have a basket I keep the bottles in.... I also have a written 4 times a day schedule (morning, noon, dinner, bedtime) SO I know what goes in each box for a easy refill....

I leave all my vitamins in the original bottles. On the lids, I write L,S,or B and how many. For instance, on the magnesium bottle top, I write, "B 2." On the calcium bottle top, I write, "L 2, S 2, B2." The iron and copper tops I don't write anything on because I can remember those. lol
If I go out for the day, I use little pill baggies that CVS sells. Only for trips do I use the pill organizers.
I have the MedCenter pill organizer. I fill it up once a month and all 36 of my daily pills fit in the compartments. I take one container with me to work every day. And when I go on vacation for a week, I just bring 7 containers with me. I love it!

I use the medCenter vitamin organizer MajorMom and Amy talked about. I really like it. It is handy to be able to just take your daily sleeve with you when you have to go out. People do different things. You have to work out what works best for you to get your vits. A 30 day orgaizer doesn't help if you don't fill it.
I've seen some people that use craft organizers and fishing tackle organizers. I need a little more direction than that. I worry about forgetting something.
I know what 95% of the pills are by sight. I lay them out on a paper plate since I seem to be taking a couple every couple of hours.
When I reload my pills, I line up 60 paper cups on the table. Each day's vitamins are in one cup. Then I go through my box of pills and dispense the correct number of pills into each cup. The number of pills needed is written on the top of the bottle caps (to be consistent).
When all the pills are dispensed into the cups, I empty each cup into a snack zip lock bag. One bag is one day's worth of vitamins. I take 3 or 4 weeks worth of baggies to work and stash them there.
When I open a bag and spread the vits on a paper plate, I save the zip lock bags and reuse them. I reuse the same cups also.
This method has cost me pennies. I dispense out 2 or 3 months at a time (but let my baggies run low if my labs are due because the doses might change), and I have plenty of time to buy replacements.
