Hello everyone,

I haven't posted since before my surgery because it's been a bit hard and I've been focusing on healing. I have a question though, I am exactly one week out today and my entire abdomen is constantly gurgling...  Like almost non stop, only exception is right after I've eaten something. Did anyone else experience this? If so, how long did it last? It's driving me crazy!

Yup. You are right on track. 4.5 yrs out and there are still days when my gurgles are having their own conversations.

Glad to see you made it through surgery.  OMG...my tummy won't stop yelling at me either.  I swear we have a love/hate thing going.  It grumbles at me because it is angry for what I have put it through and then loves me when I eat something.

Totally normal, and it seems even worse if you eat carbs. I can eat carbs with no problems, but if its carbs from French bread I can expect a war of sounds to come from my body within a couple of hours. Especially from my left side. Its so bad that its really not worth it.... French bread=violent gassy, painful noise. Its strange because I can eat a candybar and it does nothing. Everyone Is so different when it comes to this.... very individual indeed......

Very normal. For me it was the worst in the first 3 or 4 weeks. Now at nearly 11 months I just get the occasional gurgle. Sometimes depending on what I have had to eat, I can have more but even that is now fairly rare. Give it some time. Think about it as having a conversation with your DS.
