So surgery is TOMORROW! I was wondering if anyone had any advice to kill your nerves? I haven't been able to keep anything down today, which stresses me out, which just causes my nerves to sky rocket even more.

HELP!

((sj))  I wonder if relaxing herbal teas would help. They would keep you hydrated and perhaps calm you a little.

Good luck!!! You got this!!! Best decision ever! You should check out #duodenalswitch on Instagram if you have it! It helped me to visually see how the DS has impacted people and to get some motivation. Before you know it you are going to be a motivational before and after!!!!

Consider your post-op plans. Try not to dwell on the actual surgery. IT may help or a while but it's naturla to be nervous.

Have a boring surgery, see you on the other side.

haha Thank you. I don't think anyone has ever wished me a boring surgery yet. I will post after surgery to keep you all updated. Thank you again for all of the support!

If you're still feeling anxious once you're at the hospital - tell the nurse / anesthesiologist that you'd like something to help calm you down.  This is pretty common before surgery and it helps.  I waited way too long to ask - I was literally sobbing from the nervousness… they gave me something and I went into surgery feeling normal.  :)

Take good care and see you when you're ALL DONE!!!
