Trouble with Protein Shakes

I will definitely be ordering some Syntrax Nectar to try sometime soon!  And I just tried a protein coffee and I loved it! I still taste the protein a bit but it's no where NEAR as bad as before and the best part is I don't SMELL it at all!!!!!  I don't have any whipping cream or half & half in the house at the moment--will have to get some soon--so I just used 4 oz. of 2% milk and it worked fine.  Thanks so much for sharing this recipe, I feel like my life just got a million times easier. *hugsyou*

One quick comment about the shakes. I know you want as much protein as possible in one drink - but doubling the scoop can make the taste worse. I found that if I only used half - the taste was more tolerable.

I think I'll have to start doing that, or at least trying to find ways to get protein into everything else I eat so I don't have to resort to a 2-scoop shake to get my protein in quickly.  I'm on quite the learning curve.  At times it can be a bit tedious, but you all have helped so much! Thanks!!!

So I know you have some great protien shake answers....   but  I use Isopure 2 scoops at a time  but I  add flavor...  either I add a diet swiss miss hot chocolate packet or I add some water flavor enhancers  its just a matter of figuring out which ones you like.  I don't like any of Isopures other flavors but  I get a fair amount of variety with the vanilla.  Good Luck

The smell of whey is quite nauseating.  I only do protein shakes when I know I'm not eating enough, but I usually get my protein from real food.  I found the egg white protein (Jay Robb has some) to suck less.  I cant' say it's delicious, but I can make it into a lovely iced coffee treat (mix powder with cold coffee) with some heavy cream and vanilla flavoring.

Off the protein powders, I'm also a huge fan of ricotta cheese, at 28g in one cup.  You can sweeten it or savor it up depending on what you add to it.

You sound exactly like me right now. was worried about all the same things as you are and struggling with Protein shakes.  The good news is I feel much better about the weight, etc after my 4 week appointments this week. Right on target they are telling me. It made a huge difference in my attitude about everything when I was able to address my concerns with the nutritionist and PA.  I do struggle with the protein shakes though.  I have tried several powders, recipes, etc and have just found that I can't stomach the powders at all.  I have settled on the canned Pure Protein Drinks.  They don't smell, are not gritty or super sweet and they just sit better on my stomach. They have 35 grams of protein in each can. The cost is slightly higher than powder but it is worth it to me to not struggle to get them in. I drink two a day and my NUT says with that and the protein at meals I am doing perfectly. Isopure in particular really made me sick to my stomach. I have found the best price for these on AMazon and they also have an auto renewal program with no shipping or taxes added. Good luck.

As far as experimentation,  vita lady sells samples so you can try different brands /flavors at less single serve costs until you find the least less palatable option.
