With a 40 BMI the DS is a good match for you. The best thing I ever did for myself. I was 340 when I started. I am 214 pounds 9 months later. The DS is the gift that keeps on giving.

I had both at the same time. There are many that have them separate. It is still the same surgery only in two parts. I believe with some very obese people this was done quite often. First the sleeve then the Switch.

Many people have had the sleeve, been unsuccessful, and later had the DS. The biggest question you will have to answer is whether to resleeve or not. And at eight months out, the decision making may be different than someone who is five years out.

Search "resleeve" on this forum. You can also search "two part DS." There is a revision board here you may find helpful. Revisions are basically any two weight loss surgeries, so look for a revision specific to a sleeve to DS. Good luck.
