Less than a week..eeeek
With surgery less than a week away, the nerves are ever so much higher. On the countdown to surgery what did you guys and gals do to keep you focused. Any hobbies/ activities that made it easier to keep your anxiety down as well as keep your mind off the hunger from the pre-op diet?
Also, thank you all for responding to my previous posts. It means a lot that you guys and gals will support a random 22 year old from Michigan.
You are almost there!! Whoot whoot!! For me I was busy getting my house and husband and babies ready for me to be away for a few days. I had lots to do :) had to make plans for all the kids while this momma was off her feet some! :)
Just try and keep yourself busy! Maybe make a album of new fun outfits on pinterest that you will one day get to wear!!Maybe visit with friends and family now because you are going to not want to do that for a little while after surgery. Make sure you have the items you will need such as protein shakes and vites stocked up ect...
Good luck hun..it will fly by!

123 pounds loss in 1 year 7 months!
Went from a size 22 to a size 4/6!
Be excited. So much is going to change for the better :) Hang out with friends and have some fun. I didn't get too hungry from the pre-op diet since they have us eating those small things through out the day. Did you get any of the Jerky sticks as part of your two week pre-op stuff? They were low in calories to keep you on track with where they want you and a good snack to get you to your next little meal.
Maybe plan a good area you can walk when you get home from surgery I know we are having 20 below temps here in Michigan so you might want to figure out how you are going to do some laps around your house. I did that at night after my surgery, but luckily mine was in the summer so I was able to walk my back yard a few times every hour or two.

I remember. We call it the 2-week freak. lol I walked for 10 minutes almost every hour, read these boards, drank protein shakes, and researched through Google like a mad person. Thank goodness I didn't have to do a pre-op diet. I did indulge in a few Last Supers. ; )

I spent a lot of time researching what foods I can have at what point after surgery, and buying those foods so I wouldn't have to worry about what I was going to eat after I got home. At the same time I was filling my food bucket list! There were many foods that I loved that I knew I would not be able to have after surgery, so I made sure I had each one of them....and did I eat!!!
You will be fine, and will do great! I was a nervous wreck the last week or so before, but let me tell ya, I'm soooo glad and grateful that I had my DS. I researched WLS and DS for 2 years before I made the decision to go with it. I wish I would have gotten it sooner than I did.
I just wanted to say thank you for this post! I have been driving myself crazy with worry since I got my date. I am scheduled to have my DS two weeks from now....! I am reading everything over and over again... Shopping for thing to make life more functional after surgery...ie vitamin bins, vitamins, bathroom odor control ect. I had the sleeve in 09 so I am the queen of protein lol. I hope that we both will be back, well and on the loser bench soon!
That sounds just about right! I was a bit of a wreck right before surgery and it only intensified the day of. It's completely normal.
As for some hobbies...may I suggest blogging (or at least keeping a journal or word processing file with your thoughts)? I did so for the two weeks before surgery and I must say that it is interesting to look back at those entries to see my mindset during that time.
Best of luck to you! You're going to get through this!. :)
