Friends

The friend thing on here is not really a big deal. Just read the boards and talk to people. However, out there, I can see where it is important to have a support system. I have a very close knit group/family that consists of my Son, Mother and best friend Denny. All three were my support. I have never been big on having many friends. I prefer one really close friend than many. Find yourself one person you can cling to when needed. Other than that make yourself your own best friend. Love yourself. Be secure in what you are doing. You are making the right decision. Only you know if it is right. Nobody else around you can determine that. I wish you many blessings. I wish I had the DS 15 years ago. My body would have been so much better off without all the crap that comes with being obese for years. 

Hi SarahJane! My name is MIke. Ive only been a member on here a few weeks as well. My surgery is one more week away,and I have been going through alot of the same things you have. We will probably be able to give support and share information being that our surgeries are so close. Im 40 years old and I really really wish I could Have done this surgery when I was a little younger!!! You have a great opportunity to live the rest of your life.... so really live it!!! I know I am going to! Anyway just wanted to tell you good luck tomorrow!!! Im sure I will have some questions for you after surgery and you let me know if I can help- MIke A
