Over 2 months post op and need help please!

Hi I had my DS nov 18th of last year. My diet per my doctors and nutritionists is 1/2 cup protein meals 3-4 times a day and a protein shake as a supplement as well. The portion size is fine with me but I seem to find myself awfully hungry throughout the day in between my meals. I'm scared to eat more meals than what I should because I don't want to gain any of what I've lost so far. And I'm having the hardest time ever getting the scale to move. I just wanted some ideas of what other people's diets looked like so far at this point. Any help would be much appreciated!

I don't measure my food at all. I just eat every 2-3 hours and eat however much satisfies me (which is usually a very small amount - pretty much snack size).

I'm only 6 months out, so the vets might have better suggestions for you.

If you're not lactose intolerant, milk helps fill me up a lot and 250ml 2% has 9 grams of protein.

I can't stomach any of the protein powder I've bought so far, so yay for milk!

Thank you both. I love milk but according to my doc and nutritionist I can't have that. I swear I'm so hungry all the time it seems. I'm wondering are their diets more rny based. My surgeon did a wonderful job. ive been pretty lucky too I've had no nausea and not thrown anything up. Just wondering why I keep staying hungry.

Diet should be high protein, high fat and low carb.  If you are finding yourself hungry, eat every 2-3 hours.....some kind of protein.  I don't know why you wouldn't be able to have milk....unless you are lactose intolerant.

No idea why they won't let you have milk. Many find themselves lactose intolerant for a short time after surgery. I could not drink milk. But I lived on cheese. I hope you are eating a lot of cheese!

Eat often. Don't starve your body. Those days are over. High protein, low carb.

Milk is high in carbs for me but I do have HWC in my coffee, etc.  Yummy and carb free.  I will also eat greek yogurt and cheese.

The most likely reason you aren't losing is because you have been given pretty lousy diet advice.  You aren't eating enough.  So if what you are doing isn't working, change something.  Your diet should be hi protein, high fat, and low carb.  You should never be hungry.  Start thinking of protein and fat as free foods.  If you are hungry, eat protein.  Any time, as much as you want.  Start tracking on fitday or something like that for at least a couple weeks till you get the hang of it and to make sure you aren't eating carbs.

Here's a sample day.

Breakfast

2 eggs scrambled with cheese and bacon, sausage, or ham.

Snack

Handful of almonds and cheese cubes

Lunch

chicken salad with lettuce leaves and a couple baby carrots

Snack

Greek yogurt and beef jerky

Dinner

roast beef, gravy, and green beans

Snack

pepperoni slices and SF pudding

If it's protein, eat it!  If it's fat eat it!

Early out I used to have coffee WITH heavy with flavored SF syrup. I breathe I'm hungry cream cheese pancakes were a regular snack. Google it and you'll find the recipe, plus her tiramisu was good.

Oh dear, they haven't a clue, do they?  The fact that you're hungry is a plus, for you may be able to get protein from real food faster.  Feel free to nibble on something whenever you're hungry as long as it's got a good protein value to it.  Grazing is perfectly fine as long as it's not on crap.

If you're hungry, EAT!  Protein first, of course.  I have found that I have to eat to lose, and the more I eat, the more I lose.  Dream come true, no????
