2 weeks post surgery

I had a revision from lapband to DS on Jan 14. Everything went fine and I am home resting. I know it has only been two weeks so please forgive me for sounding crazy - but there are days when I sit here thinking I might never feel 'good' again. Some days I feel better but I struggle with nausea at times.  And occasionally there is a day where I just feel wiped out.  I have meds to take for the nausea still ... But I guess the healing process / soreness/ nausea/ not sleeping well - it's just wearing me down emotionally.

i drink my protein shake and think 'I don't know how much more I can take.'  Don't get me wrong - I am committed and didn't go into this lightly.  And I know my worries are nonsensical. Did anyone else out there go through this???

thanks!!

I felt the same way... the first two weeks were the worst.... every day after was a little bit better... By week 6 I was 100% back to normal with just a little nausea in the am..... Just hang in there and remember what you had done and why you did it... A few more weeks of healing for a better lifetime is pretty amazing! Just try and look at the big picture and let your body heal... Hugs

Does the AM nausea last forever?

I am only 2.5 months out and still get it...NOT every day BUT a few days a week...... I have found that if I eat protein right away when I awake it is better BUT I have heard that it does go away with time. My sister said hers latest approx 4 months then kinda left... goodluck hun!

I believe if everyone were truly honest they could admit to experiencing this to a certain degree. Recovery is hard, its emotional, its painful and it can be exhausting. I hate not sleeping in my bed!

I just had surgery for a tummy tuck and a large hernia repair.I'm back to that pain and struggling myself . Some days being harder than others. It sure brought back all those memories of last year and how hard they were but looking back on the results of this past year has carried me this time. I know the end is looking good and its worth it!

Good luck to you. Just take it a day at a time. you will turn that corner soon and be feeling better and better. Those protein drinks don't last forever as one of these days you will be able to eat that protein instead of drinking it. Follow Ginas bites and vites to get ideas for the future. Hang in there- it does get better.

I was very listless for a good 5 weeks of my perfect recovery, so what you're feeling is normal.  Keep in mind though, that dehydration causes both fatigue and nausea, so do make sure you're getting enough fluids.  64oz is goal, no ifs ands or butts.  It's anything wet, and a full time job for a while.
