I guess you can bury your head in the sand if you want to. I know for me, I'd be doing lots more research if several people on this board were warning me about the surgeon who's about to perform surgery on me. But that's just me.

Good luck with everything.

Why would you leave now and come back after surgery?

People here are offering you support - sharing their knowledge and experience.  You don't like what you're hearing so you shut them down?

You're going for a very complicated surgery.  People here want you to have successful surgery - asking you to go for a second opinion.  You should do that for your own peace of mind.  Getting a second opinion will either reinforce your opinion of Dr. Fang, or make you realize that you should have the surgery elsewhere.  Only good will come from having a second opinion.

We all wish you the best - but we're very concerned.

Still learning.  Currently in pre-op stage.

Whatever works.  I hope you have an uneventful surgery and a quick recovery. Good luck.

I hope you're reading this post... I have followed the post that you recently submitted... I was hoping you would take or at least have an open mind about what others were saying. They gave some very good advice. Listen to Larra!

I suspect you will end up with an ERNY. This is BAD and I cannot scream that loud enough. This IS NOT just an opinion on my part. I lived with the ERNY as a revision to my original RNY. The doctor who performed mine was also located in AZ... hmmm. Now going forward, it nearly killed me! I am suffering from effects of it today and some of these effects I will not have the opportunity to overcome completely. I know 4 other people who have had the same or similar experience as I. So I am not the "exception" but more likely the norm.

I have had to revise yet a 3rd time to keep from further deteriorating. Dr. Keshishian in CA performed my revision. There are only a few who are skilled enough to perform this very tricky and complicated revision. Dr. K saved my life that the ERNY was taking away. I can tell you that on the day of my surgery to DS I weighed in at 103 LBS and I was dropping fast. ...and this was not the most severe of the complications I was having due to ERNY. If you want more details and care to do some true research about what you are getting into, PM me.

Good Luck and I hope it's not already to late for you...
