Vit's and Walmart
I think you would be ok with water soluble vitamins and calcium citrate, but I would go through Vitalady for dry A, E, D, K and iron.

Start them very slowly. Don't rush and start taking them all at first ease into the plan. Perhaps start with the multivitamin, calcium citrate and D3. If you're cruising along and doing well start adding a new one every couple of days. When you start the iron go real slow. Start with one capsule the first week and see how your do. If all is good, add a second capsule. Continue on until you're taking all the iron required. Good luck!

short answer - no, we can't.
Explanation - the fat soluble vitamins must be taken in "dry" form. If you get the standard formulations that you can find at Walmart, drug stores, or even prescription, you will not absorb them, because they are packaged in oil, which is fat, and we don't absorb fat. You will need to order these vitamins from someone who carries them, which for most of us means either Vitalady or directly from the manufacturer. Vitalady is cheaper.
Bella, I mean no offense, but it has become increasingly clear that you have not been well educated by your prospective surgeon as to what the DS is and what is necessary post-op to maintain your health. I say prospective surgeon because as we've all been telling you, this individual is not known as an experienced DS surgeon, let alone someone experienced with revisions of RNY to DS. I would strongly recommend that you continue to educate yourself about the DS. You can find a lot of great info at dsfacts.com that will help you. It is crucial that you understand what you are getting yourself into and that you accept the lifelong commitment to maintaining your nutritional health. You can't count on your pcp to know about the DS, and you aren't getting much (if any) education from your prospective surgeon.
And I say prospective surgeon because as everyone has been telling you, you really need to go to a surgeon experienced in doing RNY to DS revisions. I don't usually repeat myself like this, and am doing so out of a serious concern for your future.

You need an experienced surgeon. And yours is not one of them. Period.
If you do end up with something other than the DS, please understand that this board and many others will be unable to give you the proper support. Your surgeon is not experienced and many have trusted their surgeons only to find out they got some different. Many have complications and sadly, some die.
You are making a big mistake if you do not seek out, at a minimum, a second opinion. I have fully confident that any other dr will tell you to go elsewhere.
Bella, I would bet anything that the 2 people you met at the support group meeting either had a virgin DS (meaning not any kind of revision) OR revision from lap band or sleeve(much, much simpler than revision from RNY) or, most likely, they got ERNY and were told it was "just like a DS". If this surgeon were doing the DS on any kind of regular basis, we would have heard of him at least a little. And beyond that, YOU are at least believing that what you are scheduled for is the most complex and highest risk bariatric surgery presently being done. Revision of RNY to DS is far higher risk and far more difficult for the surgeon than a virgin DS. Have you ASKED THE SURGEON specific questions about how many of THIS SPECIFIC type of revision he has ever done? Has he been able to complete them successfully? Is he planning a true revision to DS or revision to ERNY? His complication rate? His mortality rate? And again, ask about his complication and mortality rates for THIS operation, not just for everything he does. No operation other than the one you are having matters.
When I met my surgeon for my consult, my first question was his mortality rate. And this was a surgeon well known as an experienced DS surgeon. He didn't bat an eyelash and gave me an honest answer. If your surgeon is offended by this type of question or unwilling to answer, or gives you vague or evasive answers, that's a really bad sign. And in your case, given the nature and risk of the operation, if he hasn't done a lot of DS's and isn't doing them regularly, that's an honest but wrong answer.
How many people do you need to tell you that you are putting your future and your life at risk? How many times to people need to urge you to at the very, very least start asking important questions about your surgeon's experience with THIS SPECIFIC REVISION and his track record? I totally understand that you've waited a long time, got your plans in place, have high hopes, etc etc etc. None of that means that you aren't making a huge mistake.
It isn't too late to ask questions. It isn't too late to change your plans. Once you go under anesthesia, you lose this opportunity.
As far as Vitalady goes, we aren't supposed to supply direct links so I won't do that, but if you just put www in front of vitalady and .com afterward, that should do it. If not, do a Google search for Vitalady. She's easy to find. I'm glad you're taking the vitamin requirements seriously, now you just need to take the bigger issue of having an experienced RNY to DS revision surgeon seriously.

Another name that pops up in relationship to this practice, is Husted.
I only follow a couple of DS boards, but I have read enough about this practice to NEVER recommend it to anyone, as it relates to the DS. It doesn't matter who trained who. Juarez and Husted have among the worse reputations I've seen. My perception comes from comments and opinions who are on numerous DS boards and groups. The thread should give you a lot of things to think about and investigate. I would also search other forums and look specifically at results related to the virgin DS. Then look to see what results you find for the rny revision to the DS.
I am sorry for the bad news, but many have had to change surgeons for this complex surgery, and are very happy they did.
