Dr Fang???Arizona!
Who says he does the DS as well? Unless you hear it from a good many post-ops, don't believe what you read. A doctor can 'say' he does a lot of things - doesn't make it so. Many say they do the DS and then tell you that you are not a good candidate. They then sell you on the RnY (really, because they don't do the DS).
What EXACTLY is he going to do? He is not a vetted RNY to DS revision surgeon. Be VERY CAREFUL. It IS NOT too late to change surgeons. Your life may depend on it. A TRUE RNY to DS revision includes reconnecting the pouch to the remnant stomach and then forming the sleeve. He then needs to reroute the intestines to a switch configuation. This requires a great amount of skill. We routinely only recommend a handful of surgeons for this because of the high risk of complications. I have never heard of Dr. Fang doing this type of revision. I would suspect that you will wake up with an ERNY because he 'couldn't' do anything with the stomach...which really means that he doesn't have the skill to truly to the revision. You DO NOT want a ERNY. That is the worst of both worlds. Be VERY CLEAR with Dr. Fang that if he cannot perform a TRUE, FULL RNY to DS revision, close you up.

I was not aware that Fang was doing DS. There is one in Scottsdale who does, and that is Dr. Robin Blackstone. Though she is not a vetted DS surgeon, she is well on her way. Superb surgeon, excellent staff and awesome pre and post op education. Look her up, you won't be disappointed.

Truthfully, he wouldnt be doing anything on me...especially a revision. You need an EXPERIENCED REVISION SURGEON!!! You really need to do some more research.
