Hi all,    The doc said I was slightly anemic at my 6 month labs and we just repeated some at 9 months. I seem to be going in the right direction - slowly - just not sure. My Ferritin level is now somewhat high and I made no progress on my TIBC or RBC. Hemoglobin and hematocrit going up. I added 120mg iron after the 6 month labs.

So currently, how much iron are you taking, and of what type?  Adding the 120 mg. obviously made a difference in your 9 month labs, but the ferritin levels also shot up. It too****il my 9 month labs to reach normal levels, after I upped my iron to 360 mg from 300 mg, using VitaLady's iron pills.

Prior to my 6 month labs I was taking 2 natures plus chewable iron (as amino acid chelate) for a total of 54gms. I then switched to vitalady tender iron 2 capsules /day for 120mg. daily. I started eating a lot of spinach too for whatever that might have added.

Ferritin isn't too terribly high. I wouldn't stop all iron just yet. Sometimes ferritin can be high due to an inflammation of some kind, so maybe the ferritin is up for another reason since the other markers are still low and the iron is only going up slightly.

That's a thought. I recently had two issues come up - bot sure how long in the making. A hemorrhoid got bad this week Tuesday and lab tests were on Monday. Also the week before the tests I had a bad blister on my foot around an area where I previously had an infection.

I'll keep with the iron and see at 12 months.

Thanks Gina
