Hi, my experience is similar, I was in the hospital 5 weeks with nothing to eat or drink, I had the TPN to. I am eight years out and am doing great, it is hard when it is such a rough start, my prayers are with you, get lots of rest, hope you can start eating soon.

Nov. 14/2005 I have reached the 10 year mark and I am very glad I had this surgery and can live a normal life.

so glad you are home now and feeling better. What an experience! I hope all the problems are behind you and that now you can begin to experience the benefits of your DS.

And people who have never struggled with obesity think we are taking "the easy way out".  Even when all goes well, there is nothing easy about having bariatric surgery. I'm glad you posted about your experience.

Rest, rest and rest some more.  And sip in between.  These are the two most important factors for your body to heal.  Regarding the drain, I felt nothing when it was taken out -- just a slight tugging/pressure.  Welcome home!!  Here's to a bright and healthy future!

Thank you all soooo much for your kind messages.  I'm glad to say that I've been feeling a little better and a little stronger each day.  Tomorrow I go in for my check-up and drain removal.  Thanks to those of you who shared their drain removal experience - I'm feeling much less scared now!
