I haven't posted much lately but check every day to see what every one else is doing. I  always love Ginas posts and encouragement when she keeps

everyone accountable and on track, Petes  encouragement to others and Larra, and our cute little Irish nurse- all of you out there who post. Everyone is so uplifting and awesome.

I am  going in for a hernia repair ( my hernia is so big it looks like a babies head on my left side!) and they have decided to do a pannelectomy (sp) at the same

time. I am not at goal yet but getting there. Trying to psyc myself up for another surgery. Just want to get it behind me and on the road to recovery again. Thanks again

for all the positive energy you all put out there every day. We lurkers truly do appreciate those of you who take the time to educate and uplift the rest of us.

Good luck to you and I hope you have a speedy recovery.  I will be having surgery on Monday morning.  Tummy tuck with flanks liposuction.  Clear liquid tomorrow.

And good luck to you too.May you have a very speedy recovery. It sounds like you are having quite a bit done. Keep me posted on how well it all goes. How long will you be in the hospital?

My surgeon was saying I would be in there for 5 days so I am wondering if its because of the hernia repair too because I noticed that usually people go home after about 2 days for a panni.

Did your surgeon give you any idea of recovery time?

When was your DS? I've been reading a lot about hernias lately. I have a small one that I will eventually have to address.

Good luck on your recovery. Many say the panni surgery is more painful than the DS itself. I'll say a prayer for you!

Thanks! My DS was done March 19,2013. My surgeon wanted to do the panni after I had lost 80lbs. I'm actually at 103lb. And yes-please pray for me that it will be a speedy and not too painful of a recovery!

I am very interested to hear how this recovery goes for you.  I have a big alien baby hernia just under my bra line.  I was hoping to have surgery in February but just found out that my Mama has melanoma so we will have to have her surgeries/chemo/radiation first and get her stable before I consider this.  Not only do I need to help take care of her but we work together in an office with no other staff.  So we can't both be out of work at the same time because there is no one else to do the work.  Good luck and let us know how it goes.

You might want to do a search of hernia repair on this site and see how people have recovered. The recovery of a hernia repair and a panni is going to be very different than what you will experience. Your recovery will be much easier.

Sorry to hear about your mom. Be sure to take care of yourself during this trying time.
