Runny nose while eating

It means your stomach is nearly full.  Time to slow down and let things settle.  When I'm at the brink, I also hiccup three times.

Gastric Rhinitis.  It's common.  You are full!

I have not had the surgery yet but experience this every time I over eat. The rest of my family thinks its funny that I sneeze when I over eat. It usually starts with my nose running and if I dont stop I start sneezing. Im very aware of this while eating a meal away from home so I dont get to that point but at home I am more relaxed and thats where it tends to happen. LOL! Maybe I should eat every meal out side our home and I wouldnt over eat.

Means you need to STOP eating.

I sneeze, others hiccup, and others get runny noses...and some get two or three.

But it's your body's way of saying NO MORE...you stuffed my sleeve enough.

This can happen to me at unexpected times. Just eating a little can bring it on, sometimes it just starts. Someone told me
that the operation may have irritated my vagus nerve causing this reaction. Not a cause for alarm.
For me it starts and it can be over with one use of a tissue.

Yes, that is your vagus nerve doing that and it is a "tell." Meaning that when it happens it is time to stop eating. You are literally full.

I appreciate that but it can happen even when I am not eating. If I could pin it down to just
when I eat I would find it less interesting. Still just curious not concerned.

Im like you PeteA. I could just wake up in the morning and have it do it after a drink of water. At the same time I also know that it does have to do with me getting full, "just not all the time"... Im dealing with it, small price to pay. I just would like to know why it does it other times besides when Im full.... Now I know theres someone else like myself.... Thanks for posting and letting me know im not the only one PeteA.....lol
