I'm 4 weeks post op.  The first week I lost 20 pounds.  But for the last 3 weeks nothing!!!  Is this normal to not lose weight in the beginning.  Depressing!!

Normal, yes. Your body needs some time to heal and figure out what was done to it. Keep sipping water, getting your protein and the rest will follow.

Hey, welcome to the dark side.

It is very normal. I've read that some even gained weight directly after their surgery.  Sure most of that was bloating, gas, and fluid retention.

You 're fine.

I bloated up and gained.  I remember thinking that wasn't right because I was missing a couple of organs - like an appendix and gallbladder, and I was kinda pissed off about that.  But I was very swollen, so it all melted off later.

And everyone gets the first stall around 6 weeks.  The body adjusts, and then it keeps going down.

Try on some clothes from the back of your closet.  It was during these periods that I would discover that I'd dropped a size or three.  That is a great depression-booster.
