What is the life expectancy for DS patients after surgery? I can't find anything really.

I don't think you'll be able to find anything stating a specific life expectancy for any form of bariatric surgery. Keep in mind that there is a huge age range of people having surgery, from teenagers up to seniors, some in otherwise good health, some with life threatening medical conditions.

There is evidence, in general, that MO people who have bariatric surgery (again not specifically the DS) live longer than MO people who don't have bariatric surgery, but that's all I know of.

the issue is supplementation and testing, as long as you supplement correctly, feel good, and have your blood work the life expectancy is the same, better if you had bariatric surgery and you were MO.  the rough part comes when we are too elderly to take the boatload of pills we have to, I will probably just die of malnutrition....

The first DS was done in 1988 and last I heard, he was still alive and healthy.
