Vit K2

What is the scoop on this.  Various forms?  M7 better than M4?  I found a sublingual 500mcgs but it is M4.  VitaLady's is M7 and only 150 mcgs.

I take MK4. From what I've read, MK4 builds bone strength while MK7 clears calcium from the arteries. MK4 has a shorter half-life than MK7 so it doesn't last as long in our system.

All that being said, I'm still not sure which one is best. Hahaha! Let's see what some of the vets have to say. :)

Yeah, I think they are still trying to figure it all out. I take MK7 but have seen improved osteocalcin numbers on my labs and have improved dexa scans as well. I take 4 - 150 mcg Vitalady capsules a day. The interesting thing some folks are seeing is improved vitamin D3 absorption when they are taking vitamin K2.

Interesting.  I didn't realize there are so many forms.  I take the superior source sublingual.

I would be asking Vitalady this question.  That's her expertise.  But one comment on K:  Good luck EVER getting the lab test covered by insurance.  Mine cost $406 and was not a covered benefit.  They cover everything else but K.

I.  am.  not.  a.  doctor.

For those taking K1 and K2, do you take them at the same time during the day? Do they have to be split up?

I take my Ks together.

I have in my notes (from reading posts on OH): "Take K1 & K2 together but separate from A & E".

Sorry that I don't have the original link to that info, so maybe some vets want to chime in to confirm/deny.
